FAQ

How big is a quarter of beef?

-A quarter of beef is usually around 100 pounds. Making a whole beef around 400 pounds.

How much freezer space do I need for a whole beef?

- For a whole beef, it is recommended to have 16 cubic feet. A quarter would be 5-7 cubic feet.

What about local pickup or delivery?

-Once the beef is packaged and ready at the butcher, you will pick it up at the butcher as long as the final deposit has been paid. You will need to pay the butcher his processing fee with a separate check as well at pick up. If you are not in the area, please check out Products to Ship for what is available to be shipped.

How do you prepare grassfed steaks?

- We prepare our steaks by bringing the steaks to room temperature and adding a dry rub within 5 minutes of grilling on a 450F hot grill. 5 minutes per side with a 10-minute resting period.

How many people will a whole cow feed?

- Usually, a whole cow will feed a family of three that eat beef four times a week for a full year. For some, they would only need half a beef and will go in with a friend/family who also only needs half a beef to get the reduced whole beef price.
